This program is designed for students to put their knowledge gained in the IH Vancouver Business English Program to the test in a Canadian business environment. Although placements are paid, the options available to candidates are quite different from those available to candidates in the Professional Internship Program.
The majority of positions available are in customer service or retail sales. This program may be taken as a Straight, Integrated or Sandwich structure. Integrated options may only consist of 7+21, 9+27 or 11+33.

This program is designed for students planning a career in the hospitality/resort industry. The goal is to improve both job and language-related skills as well as to gain work experience. In each of the 3 programs, at least 50% of the program will consist of course work with the remaining time spent working at a Canadian resort. Work placements may be conducted at Whistler or one of the many resorts in the Rocky Mountains.
Vancouver Option:
Students wishing to participate in the Work & Study program in the Greater Vancouver area can choose from a Straight course. Students enrolled in the Vancouver option must complete their entire study portion at the IH Vancouver campus.
Work placements may be conducted at restaurants and retail outlets in busy Metropolitan Centers. Positions include retail assistants, retail sales staff, café assistants, café servers, kitchen, and restaurant & bar staff. A minimum level of Lower-Intermediate is required prior to beginning classes.

Whistler Option:
Students wishing to participate in the Whistler option must complete their entire study period in Whistler. All students enroled in the Whistler Integrated options must study part time at the Whistler campus throughout their course of employment. The Integrated program is offered in Whistler. All Whistler placements require a minimum level of Lower-Intermediate prior to beginning classes.

Rockies Option:
Students wishing to participate in this program in the Rocky Mountains can choose from either a Straight course or a Sandwich course. Students enrolled in the Rockies option must complete their entire study portion at the IH Vancouver campus. Work placements may be conducted at Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper, Invermere or Kananaskis. A minimum level of Pre-Intermediate is required prior to beginning classes.
